Paris Report: Louis Vuitton Fall 2009

While revealing their fall 2009 collection, Louis Vuitton also launched the result of a collaboration with Kanye West. The shoe designed by the rapper was featured in the show as well. It was a monochromatic mid-top with no frills, save for a quilted flap in the back, all the easier to tuck pants into. “The inspiration came from a jacket with a huge collar in the movie ‘Dune,’ ” West says. “Most sneakers focus on the tongue, so I wanted to do something different.” The inspiration for the collection was “the traveling wardrobe of an African King, adapting his taste for a trip to Paris”. Luxury travel and accessories accompanied most of the looks as well.
