Paris Report: Dries Van Noten Fall 2009

For Fall 2009, Van Noten used subtle prints, ease aesthetics, and billowy fabrics. The collection consisted of belted coats, double-breasted suits with exaggerated shoulders, pleated trousers, and generously cut shirts. Some suits were made to be worn two ways: buttoned single-breasted, or an exaggerated tailored snatch. Trousers were cropped at the ankle, the better to show off tasseled loafers, or an odd slip-on with non-functioning laces.
